Decorate Patriotically by Luther Graves
When some people dress up their house they will use the colors of their country. The traditional look of red, white, and blue has been upgraded, now most of these looks have added a more rustic look. Most people will at times choose this type of dcor because it shows they are patriotic but another reason is it won’t cost you a lot of money.
When you decide to redecorate in the good ole’ color of red, white, and blue start thinking of what makes you most proud of the U.S. When doing this though you don’t just change a few articles to the color of the room. Pick articles that would dress up the room more. Perhaps a flag, getting one of those antique flags; they will be a nice touch to start the change with. This is a great way to add a great touch to your room.
No matter how hard you think it’s going to be to create a patriotic themed room it’s actually a no-brainer and also pretty simple. If you aren’t into bright colors try darkening them up when you choose the color scheme. They have many patriotic dcor out there which is a deeper red and also a navy blue. If you have one wall in the room which you don’t mind making a dramatic change to, try painting it red with the antique flag hung on the wall for your focal point. The other walls can stay a light cream color or white so you aren’t shocked at an all red room. Why not add a decorative boarder like starts around the top of the wall just to accent the room. There are also wallpaper boarders which are stunning so check those out as well.
Add a bit more color and style to the room a get a nice looking rug with the patriotic colors on it. Put it in front of one of the plain walls not the wall with the rug, this will help to add those color in that area. Pick a rug that is one of the colors only another great design would be a rug that has stars or even a striped rug. If you have picked to paint the walls with the colors, adding a great white or off white rug will offset the walls very nicely.
With adding several stars in one way or another around the room the room will come alive. With the more rustic stars on shelves or other ways to hang them, or check into a quilt which you can display in several ways. If you don’t feel like hanging the patriotic quilt on the couch, try other options like tacking them on the wall, or just putting them on a rack. Find many sizes of stars and put any kind of pattern on the wall.
The last little detail you can add to your room is candles. They come in all different shapes and sizes which you can place around the room for accents as well as the smell. Apple is one of those scents that everyone loves to smell and it will go along with the theme you are setting. No matter the dcor you place in your patriotic room, you’ll enjoy to sit back and relax in it.
